L. Q. Jones (born August 19, 1927) is an Americancharacter actor and movie director. He is known for his roles in some movies directed by Sam Peckinpah.[1][2] He starred in The Wild Bunch, Hang 'Em High, Ride the High Country, Battle Cry, and in Casino.

Jones is a practising Methodist and a registered Republican. Jones made his film debut in 1955 in Battle Cry, credited under his birth name Justus McQueen. His character's name in that film, however, was 'L. Jones', a name he liked and decided to adopt as his stage name for all of his future roles as an actor. Wagon Train Pvt.
