Previously saying that the closure would occur in mid-2020, Microgaming revealed that the last hand will be dealt on May 19th, 2020 — 16 years after first offering online poker. On Friday, September 20, rather unexpected news came about the closure of one of the most popular poker networks - Microgaming Poker Network. About this wrote in his blog one of the leaders of MPN Alex Scott.
The report notes that he held numerous consultations with experts, independent experts, and colleagues around the world. The result of such complex communication was a disappointing conclusion: the MPN network is not able to compete with its rivals. Poker is not part of the new Microgaming strategy (which includes, in addition to poker, online casinos and sports betting).
The poker division will continue to function normally until mid-2020. All poker players will be able to withdraw money at any time (including after the official closing). Promotions and promotions will be carried out according to plan. UCOP and the MPN Poker Tour in Malta are also not canceled and remain on schedule in full.
All poker rooms included in the Microgaming network are notified of the closure and are looking for new partners to move to other networks.
